Estate Planning

Howard Droker drafts wills, durable powers of attorney, and health care directives for people
with estates of up to $3,000,000.

Wills enable people to determine what happens to their assets after their death. For married
couples with assets over $1,350,000, significant tax planning opportunities are available in the
drafting of wills.

Durable powers of attorney allow a named person (the "attorney in fact") to manage the business
affairs of someone who is incapacitated or disabled. Many powers must be specifically
enumerated or the appointed attorney in fact will not be able to carry them out.

Health care directives state whether or not a person wishes to receive artificial respiration and
hydration. These directives are important if the person is incapacitated and cannot let his or her
wishes be known.
